Join us for Lights Out, Texas Movie Premiere and Exhibit Opening!
Each year during fall and spring migrations, nearly two billion birds travel through Texas navigating with the night sky in one of the planet’s great wildlife spectacles. However, as they pass over big cities on their way, they can become disoriented by bright artificial lights and skyglow, often causing them to collide with buildings or windows. Lights Out, Texas is a statewide campaign of education, awareness, and action to address this problem.
Come out and watch the newest short documentary released by Audubon Texas and Cornell Lab of Ornithology to learn about the Lights Out, Texas Initiative, enjoy the newly installed Lights Out, Texas Exhibit provided by Texas A&M University Biodiversity Research and Teaching Collections, interact with some of the best conservation organizations that will help you understand how we can help our migrating birds.
Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Seating is limited so reserve a seat now! Refreshments will be provided. After hours access to Canyon Floor trail dependant on weather.
