Summer 2025 is here! Join us at Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center for summer fun on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10a-11a. We'll have classes for kids of all ages focused on nature and what we can find in our own backyards.
All classes begin at 10:00am and are one hour.
June 18 - Birding 101 with Indoor Birding - You'll learn what birding is, how to use binoculars, basics of bird ID, and practice those skills with some indoor birding.
June 19 - Louis Fuertes: Hispanic Conservation Hero: You'll learn about this amazing artist that put his talent to work saving birds. Then we'll make our own art inspired by Louis's work.
June 25 - Plants for Birds for Kids: You'll learn how birds and plants rely on each other to survive. Then we will make plans for our own bird garden with art supplies.
June 26 - Flying Raptors with a craft - You'll learn what makes hawks and eagles unique and how to ID our local birds. Then we'll build a paper glider that you can take home and fly!
July 2 - Butterfly Lifecycle with a craft - You'll learn the butterfly lifecycle from egg, to caterpiller, to chrysalis, to butterfly! Then we'll make a buttefly lifecycle guide to take home.
July 3 - American Birds with a craft - Celebrate our Independence Day with all the birds of every state! Then we'll build an eagle to take home.
